SAMSUNG: PROJECTS

I served as a UX lead for multiple Samsung mobile device projects. Above images are just few of the products on display. My most recent projects include the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Samsung Note 5 devices which launched on August 21, 2015. I am presently working on the next generation on wearables for Samsung.

My role as a UX lead for a device involves:

  •      Understanding UX deltas in the device and communicating them to the mobile carrier(Verizon and Sprint).
  •      Thoroughly reviewing the interactions on the device and providing expert opinion on UX changes.
  •      Conducting small group usability studies and preparing analysis report.
  •      Acting as the liaison between Product Management, Marketing, Research, and Development teams as well as with mobile carrier clients.

Working on pre launch devices gives me an early glance at the technological changes as well as the revolutionary interactions in Samsung devices. I have made significant suggestions on new interactions that have had a meaningful impact on the design. Most recently I worked on the interactions of the Apps Edge panel and the People Edge panel of the S6 Edge Plus device shown below.

In addition to working on pre-launch devices, I also continue to support these devices during a software update and have worked on over 10 such projects. My key responsibility in these projects is to ensure a smooth transitioning of the interactions, along with new interactions specific to the operating system, such that the user of the device would have a seamless experience in using the device.

Overall, through my work at Samsung, I have gained a deep understanding of the nuances of interactions with mobile devices.
